Johann Sebastian Humpbach eBook Jamie David Reviews
We highly recommend this book for all ages. We gave a copy to our 12 year old neice and she loved it. I am an avid reader and enjoyed the book as well. But, the real test was my husband who isn't a reader and he also loved the book.
JSH is a great story that blends Hawaiian culture with environmental awareness. Richly illustrated with a writing style that targets middle school kids, plus a mystery that motivates readers to defy their parents' call for bedtime and read it under the covers with a flashlight.
We have three teens - 13, 15 and 18. Our 13 and 15-year-olds (boy and girl) both read Johann and loved it. In fact, neither of them were especially avid readers and now ask to go to Borders in hopes to find another good story. Highly recommend this for mid-teens!
Johann Sebastian Humpbach is a sweet and yet educational tale. Although targeted for the 9-12 year old age group, it''s a book the whole family can share. Children will learn about the annual migration of the Humpback whales, about the magic of their songs, and at the same time be entertained with a charming tale of mystery and intrigue. All set in the good modeling of fine family values. Highly recommended.
